Tagging etiquette – a simple rule

If you’re a DJ and you’re thinking of tagging me on social media when you’re plugging your latest set, here is a very simple set of guidelines to follow.

Is one of my records in your set? I’m talking about original tracks or remixes here.

If the answer to that question is YES, please go ahead and tag me. I like to see who’s playing my music. If you don’t tell me about it, I’m probably not going to know you’re playing it.

If the answer is NO, please don’t tag me. It just annoys me. As vain as this might sound, chances are I’m not going to be interested in listening to your latest if one of mine isn’t on it. There’s only so many hours a day.

If the answer is no and you tag me anyway? I’m probably going to think you’re an annoying dick.
