I never knew this, but one of the latest trends in music is trying to find old stuff that wasn’t very popular when it was new. I read about this over on MBW, with a company called Karousel Music making its money out of doing this.
It’s a bit like the Antiques Roadshow on the BBC. It happens occasionally – someone brings an item along thinking it’s not worth much money, but is then gobsmacked when they get the valuation which is beyond their wildest dreams.
It’s an interesting idea. The music has already been made, so there’s no investment in that department. So I wonder whose music, some of which should have had much more attention than it did at release, that one of these companies could look at next?
I just can’t think of anyone…
