First thing’s first. I’m sure Defected are very keen to get back to running events. They are an events company with a record label business attached to these days, ultimately. But I can’t help but think that Simon Dunmore’s fingers got a little bit trigger happy whilst organising post-lockdown bookings.

The lineup for the rescheduled Defected London event was announced nearly two weeks ago, and Warehouse Project are holding their event in Manchester. That one will be in December. Take a look at the lineups below. Click on the pictures to make them bigger if you need to.

If you came away from that feeling you’d basically read the same lineup twice, you wouldn’t be entirely wrong. Basement Jaxx, Eats Everything, Low Steppa, Purple Disco Machine, the Shapeshifters, Mr Simon Dunmore himself and a few others are appearing at both events.

So anyone who decides to grace both events with their presence is going to feel quite the sense of déjà vu. Still, Simon Dunmore and Sacha Lord aren’t going to be complaining when they’re counting their money just before Christmas…
