Defected moves its London event from July to September – but if you can’t make the new dates, how much of your ticket money will you REALLY get back? The answer may surprise you…

One business particularly keen to get the events side going again is Defected. The highly lucrative Croatia festival was cancelled last year and currently looks set to go ahead – Covid rates in the country remain very low. But Defected London wasn’t as clear cut.

The label has now announced that they’re moving the event, set to take place at The Drumsheds, to the final weekend of September. Amidst the current information vacuum from government, that was probably a sensible call. Those who couldn’t make the date were invited to claim a refund and have until July 9th to do so.

But how much are they actually going to get back? I checked for tickets and spotted one for Sunday going for £196. After fees are taken off, the face value of the ticket is £113.89. Over £82 worth of fees are included in the price and will not be refunded.

I wonder how many seconds it took before Mr Dunmore said “Nah, we’re definitely not absorbing the cost of that”…
