Kelli Sae –  Believe In A Brighter Day (Reel People Music)
Previously remixed by Michael Gray – who appears on around 47,000 other releases at the moment- Rocco Rodamaal has a go at remixing this one. There’s a pretty simple chord progression at play on this record, but it’s much more effective than I expected. Kelli Sae is a singer who’s been around for a long time now and her experience shows in this confident performance. Like it.

Sterling Ensemble & Sara Devine – Joy (Sterling Blue Music)
It’s the Kenny Dope mixes of this one that have really caught my interest. They remind me a lot of what Masters At Work remixes used to be like in the 90s – a vocal mix all about the song and a dub with chopped up vocals and a big sense of fun. Frankie Feliciano’s mixes are okay, the original is a bit better than okay.

Sol Brown Feat. Hannah Khemoh – Lovin’ On My Music (Rhemi Music)
Sol Brown always seems to deliver the goods. And Hannah Khemoh, one half of London powerhouse Hanlei, always delivers too. So it’s no surprise to see that this release, too, delivers.
