Many years ago, as a child, I recall watching an old episode of a great cartoon called The Flintstones. In this particular episode, Wilma and Betty went to a bar for a drink and were reliably told by the barman this was the place women went to in order to be “discovered”.
I wonder what Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rumble would seemingly make of this. In order to get discovered by the major labels now, all you have to do is sign up with Distrokid and, once you opt in, the labels might well detect you on their radar.
How times change, eh? I find it crazy that so many people are willing to hand over 80% of their entire earnings to a big monolith company who demand the rights to keep everything that they do forever. Even the boss at Sony thinks so…
