News reaches us at Ears To The House this evening from Detroit – Moodymann has been involved in what has been described as “a severe auto-accident”. The news was announced by Mahogani Music, Moodymann’s own label.
An Instagram statement said “Moodymann [real name Kenny Dixon Jr] along with another cherished member of our Mahogani Music family were injured in a severe auto-accident. Unfortunately, he will not be able to perform in tonight’s Where Are My Keys show”.

UPDATE 8AM: We’re pleased to report Dixon looks like he’ll be okay. He’s out of the accident with some broken ribs – a source describes him as being “shaken, but in a pretty positive mood”. No word about the unidentified passenger….
