It’s now been a little over a week since dance music press darling Annabel Ross – it tells you something about the state of the industry when she’s considered the best of the bunch – decided to attack Nervous Records for their use of scantily clad ladies on their social media material. So what’s happened since?

Well, two things. The first is that Ross still hasn’t credited our website’s work in this area – Ears To The House began highlighting the dodgy advertising from Nervous back in January 2021. During that time, Nervous never responded to any of our requests for comment – but nor did they ever object or complain about any articles that we published on the subject.

The second is that so far, Nervous have kept to their word. The so-called Nervous models – one of whom is actually understood to be the girlfriend of label boss Michael Weiss – haven’t been seen at all in the past two weeks. But what will happen to them now?

Our source close to Nervous say the sudden change of tack has thrown the label somewhat off course. They said “Quite a few scheduled Instagram posts had to be pulled after this announcement. Mike’s had meetings with the team over this and they’re trying to work out how best to take things forward. They want to keep the Nervous models, but bring it up to date. They’ve been working on this for a while, but the onslaught from Annabel has speeded things up.”.

Looks like we might not have seen the last of them…
