Here at Ears To The House, we’re big fans of values like principles and integrity. These are values which are sadly desperately lacking in the scene that we cover, so when we see it, it’s something we consider important to acknowledge. Hence why we’re generally favourably disposed towards Nastia, the Ukrainian techno DJ.
After all, it was Nastia who previously called out Russian DJ Nina Kraviz – a woman who previously spouted pro-Putin nonsense yet curiously refuses to declare what side of the fence she’s on over the Ukraine war, now into its second year. Nastia continues to have an extremely busy schedule going into 2023, including her own Nechto label parties.
Last week, she announced via Instagram that the label would be going to Berlin’s Zenner club on May 20th. But just hours later, the post was pulled – with ticket pundits Resident Advisor changing the listing, and making an absolute mess of it…
The blurb reads “The war in Ukraine left us without a home and base” – and the irony of their Berlin party not having a home and base isn’t lost on us. So what’s going on?
One of our reliable European sources claimed that the date was “announced a little too early. From what I know, there’s one or two details that haven’t been totally nailed down, and everyone wanted to get everything right before announcing it. Nastia most likely just made an innocent mistake.”
Zenner haven’t replied to our emails at the time of publication…
