As anyone looking out of their window might have noticed over the past few weeks, the weather has got quite a bit cooler recently – well, unless you live in Australia, anyway. Winter is here for much of the globe, and Christmas is now just under a fortnight away.
But in the ever commercial modern-day dance music world, opportunities for money spinners don’t stop just because it’s a bit cold outside. Recently, Ears To The House reported on how Defected was getting into the festive mood by selling Christmas jumpers for the first time – although judging by their socials, they’ve yet to persuade any of their own DJs to wear them.
It certainly contrasts favourably with DJ Sneak’s efforts in 2021, when he got ready for Santa’s visit by selling T-shirts through his website – hardly the ideal choice of top for a wintery stroll to walk off those calories from Christmas dinner. So what are Nervous doing this year to help boost those sales ahead of the big day? Well…
That’s right – a free pair of Nervous branded gloves will be sent out with each order. And whilst we sadly have no idea exactly how many they’ve ordered, the label does promise to “include another free item” if they’re unlucky enough to run out of stock.
Nervous has something of a chequered history when it comes to giving away a little extra – at the 1996 Miami Winter Music Conference, they were dishing out branded sachets of suntan lotion. But on the other hand, January 2021 saw them plugging sun visors at a time when the average daytime temperature in their native New York was between -2 and -4°C…
