Over 600 musicians sign letter refusing to perform in Israel over Palestinian conflict – but why has notorious human rights loving DJ Danny Rampling not signed it?

The Israeli Palestine conflict is one that flares up sporadically, and inevitably brings up questions when it does. And some of those questions involve the human rights of the people who are caught up in the middle of this dreadful warfare.

It’s of no surprise, therefore, to find musicians making pledges not to perform in Israel. Indeed, over 600 have done so in recent days and that total is rising. But the name of Danny Rampling is conspicuously absent.

Why? Rampling spends much of his time these days – as chronicled frequently by this blog – ranting on social media about how our freedoms and human rights are under threat due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Indeed, on his stories on Instagram the other day, he posted this – in reference to some sort of camp-in event due to start on Bank Holiday Monday…

On Palestine, however, he has not said anything. Not a sausage. Could it be because he’d look like an utter hypocrite due to doing gigs in Dubai some years ago? Then again, Rampling has shown that he’s perfectly happy doing a volte-face in the past…
