There is shock and even a little sadness in the world of house music right now at the news that legendary singer Kathy Brown is currently in hospital receiving urgent treatment. Host of podcast series True House Stories and long-time producer Lenny Fontana leads the good wishes on Facebook – asking his fans to “send your prayers”.

Ears To The House understands that her cancer diagnosis – a stage 4, meaning it’s a “serious disease that requires immediate expert care” – came as a complete surprise. A scan found cancer on the chest and on the brain – and as we type this, she’s in the hospital undergoing a major procedure to reduce the swelling.

Brown is likely to remain in hospital for quite some time following the surgery. We shall keep you updated on this story as we receive more – and Ears To The House, of course, wishes Kathy Brown nothing but the best going forward…
