Here’s Three They Made Earlier: old tunes and older tunes every Monday | November 27, 2023

As we get ready to say farewell to another Monday, it’s time for our usual look back at the increasingly extensive archives of the dance music world. Each week, members of the team pull out three choices from dance music history, ranging from well-known to those which have been forgotten over the years.

First up this evening, we go back to a prolific era for the musician Moby. In 2002, he released quite a few different singles – “Extreme Ways” was one of them, and the original song appears at the end of all five Bourne Ultimatum films. As was typical at the time, the track contained several remixes – including this unusually long one by Vito Lucente, aka Junior Jack…

Next up this evening, it’s one of those records that you either love or hate. You either love it more each time you hear it, or just think it’s totally overrated. Whatever your opinion, it’s the underrated Swing 52 remix of “Turn Me Out” by Kathy Brown and Praxis – a collaboration between David Shaw and Cevin Fisher.

And finally for today’s column, here’s one from 1997. Sandy Rivera – one half of Kings Of Tomorrow back in this era – was churning out the goods in the mid-90s, and this is one he did with Sabrynnah Pope. Oh, and they got Mike Delgado to remix it as well…

More selections next Monday…
