UPDATE: Moodymann OK after car accident, but shows to be cancelled

Time now to update you on a story which broke late last night. As Ears To The House reported, Moodymann – real name Kenny Dixon Jr – was involved in a car accident yesterday alongside a person from his Mahogani Music label who has not been named.

We can confirm that Dixon and the unidentified person have been relatively lucky and are both now recovering in hospital. Sources have also confirmed that Dixon’s only injury was “some broken ribs” – thank goodness.

Financially however, the news could not come at a worse time. After events have now resumed properly after two years of severe Covid-induced disruption, Moodymann will now have to cancel a series of gigs. And with broken ribs said to take around six weeks to heal, his appearances at the likes of Britain’s Parklife Festival on June 11th and Paraiso Festival in Madrid on June 24th are currently in serious doubt.

A source in Detroit who knows Dixon personally assures us he’s “looking forward to getting back on the saddle soon”. And so say all of us…
