The subject of Beyoncé Knowles has come up on Ears To The House a few times by now. To us, her conversion to house music seems slightly more authentic to us than that of Drake – but we say this partly because Beyoncé’s singles as a solo artist and as part of Destiny’s Child used to receive the house treatment years ago.
A few weeks ago, we revealed that Terry Hunter had played his remix of “Break My Soul” for the first time at the Chosen Few festival in Chicago. At the time, the remix wasn’t strictly official – a source tells us it had been approved by Knowles herself, but that its release hadn’t been signed off. We also revealed other remixes had been commissioned by the label.
They’re now finally here. Nina Aviance, Honey Dijon, will.i.am and Terry Hunter’s remixes are all included, and we’re pleased to see it. Here’s his version in all its glory…
And everyone in the Chicago house scene is happy to see two of their own represented here. Well, almost everyone…
You can’t please them all…
