Here’s Three They Made Earlier: old tunes and older tunes every Monday | October 30, 2023

As we get ready to say farewell to another Monday, it’s time for our usual look back at the increasingly extensive archives of the dance music world. Each week, members of the team pull out three choices from dance music history, ranging from well-known to those which have been forgotten over the years.

First up, it’s a track that might answer the Track ID question that plagues social media and YouTube whenever anyone posts anything with music. This song literally tells you what it is early on – and this was all the way back in 2001. Perhaps more songs, in this disposable age, should try the same thing?

Next up today, it’s a moment from 1994 courtesy of Theo Gerideau. His story is quite simple – he served in the US navy, left, became a singer and released a lot of songs mostly about love over a roughly 13-year period. X-Press 2 provide this remix of “Take A Stand For Love”…

Finally, who doesn’t love a bit of Kerri Chandler? We certainly do at Ears To The House – but one thing even we don’t fully know about is his discography. It’s so extensive that, even now, we’re still finding tracks from the archive which we previously weren’t aware of. This one, called “Gotcha” came out on King Street all the way back in 1996. It definitely got us, for sure…

More selections next Monday…
